Binh An Seafood Joint Stock Company has quickly affirmed position regarding quality in international market in spite of newly taking part in processing and export field of Tra, Basa fish. “Choosing own way for steady development” is the affirmation of Madam Pham Thi Dieu Hien, the President and General Director of Binh An Seafood Joint Stock Company (Bianfishco).
Quality
Domestic export market has spent “gloomy” period from the middle of 2008 up to now and there have still been impending difficulties. Madame Dieu Hien was very open-minded to talk about this point and stated “Global economic crisis directly affected situation of domestic export. Many orders of companies strongly decreased and Bianfishco could not also avoid this impact. However, with advantage of strategy of steady development, top prestige and taking quality as criterion, thus we seem to be out of crisis margin.” With the operation guideline based on 6 quality targets such as quality of life, quality in the farm, quality in the factory, quality of the products, quality of services and quality for you, “Bianfishco overcomed all risks by its business”, shared by Mrs. Hien.
Tra, basa fish are “produce” and strength that nature preferentially offer Mekong Delta in particular and the whole country in general. Only with 6,000 ha of water areas, in the year of 2008, tra and basa fish brought in income source of foreign currency which are nearly US$ 1,5 billion for the country. Being able to realize the above issue, Bianfishco has invested in farming area which is about 100 ha and applied according to Global Gap standard and come forward to establish Research Institute operating in experiment, fingerlings research, genetic selection, fish meal, antibiotics residues, nutrition ingredient, pathodology, ect. of tra, basa fish. This is the first company which can set up Global Trace System and is also the most mordern process factory of tra, basa fish in Southeast Asia nowadays. Madam Hien told that Bianfishco products of tra, basa fish come into 27 countries in the world. “Our proudness is exporting thousands of containers through European market but there are not any containers rejected or complained about quality”.
Difference
Not only making effort to peg the traditional market, Bianfishco also strongly “further” into the U.S.A market which is evaluated as “strict” market but has much potentiality. Up to now, export value of Bianfishco to the U.S.A market has been estimated at US$ 14 million, the output equivalently amounted to 22 million MT; export value to European estimated at US$ 60 million, equivalent to 4,000 MT of the output. In the generally difficult situation of the economy, the above value are impressive and may be the dream of many Seafood Export Companies.
Madam Hien also told that if companies wanted to export to the U.S.A market, they should work in accordance with international standards, then they will be seriously welcomed and absolutely supported by the U.S.A. “Exporting into the U.S.A has no problems, if we work in accordance with the standard and quality, then there are not any reasons for the U.S.A to reject”. Giving an example for this, Madam Hien told that it was easy for Bianfishco to come to the U.S.A for asking permission of opening supermarket, wholesale market, ect. Bianfishco has “spectacularly” overcomed all barriers in order to become the first company in Vietnam which has been enjoyed the zero rate of antidumping tax until the year of 2012. This is the second time that Bianfishco has enjoyed the zero rate of antidumping tax in the U.S.A market. Priding of being an investor of Vietnam that well- matching with the U.S.A corporations to invest in this market, Madam Hien told that Bianfishco had delivered products of tra, basa fish consumed through states and welcomed by consumers. Bianfishco completed procedures and was given permission by the local authority to construct Bianfishco market in Beverly Hills city, consisting of the wholesale market, restaurants, underwater world and combining with tourism in San Francisco for products introduction, distribution of retail and wholesale of Mekong Delta tra, basa fish and consumin all kinds of agricultural and aquatic products of Vietnam. This is one of models of 8 projects that Bianfishco will invest in construction and development at coming time in San Francisco, New Jersey, Los Angeles (LA), Honolulu (Hawaii), New Orlean, New York (Boston), Mianmi and Chicago.
Being a potential market with 51 states, however the U.S.A is also a risky market with great ratio of capital tie-up. Madam Hien thought: “ When taking part in the U.S.A market, I have “comprehended” the market and realized that if we want to be successful in the U.S.A, only way will be cash receipts because this country completely sells on credit and capital tie-up. If wanting the company to avoid high risk, you must suffer hardship, carefully calculate by directly selling to customers with trade name and reputation of the company. And Bianfishco has been able to do that”.
Believing in what Bianfishco constructed last time, especially high quality products, Madam Hien shared: “We fully have strictest rules which the world regulates. The target in 2010 is that Bianfishco’s export value reached over $US 100 million and we believe that we can do because our projects have started operations well. In 2010, we will “take advantage of victory”, carry out more production and sale in order to make foreign currency for the country.
