Despite being a new player, business performance of Binh An Seafood Company (BIANFISHCO) from raw fish farming and processing to exporting increases fast and firm. That is due to right quality policy of the company’s board of directors.

BIANFISHCO started with pure and safe Pangasius farming. His help ensure quality of raw fish inputs. Besides, BIANFISHCO’s processing factory has been installed with the state – of – the – art equipment, workers are well trained and qualified staffs are welcomed.
As a result, the company’s products are widely accepted by customers in terms of quality and food safety. Export markets are expended quickly. Despite having just come into operation, BIANFISHCO exports 1,250MT of finished products per month (50 containers).
To control and guarantee quality, hygiene and food safety, the company has implemented quality assurance systems like HACCP, ISO, BRC, and is seeking accreditation of advanced standards for raw material producing regions.
Pham Thi Dieu Hien, President and General Director of BIANFISHCO, said “Only by satisfying increasing requirements of customers around the world can a seafood company survive and develop. And this is more vital in the context of global integration”.
Besides Pangasius fillets, BIANFISHCO plans to build a new value - added product processing factory in 2008 and a aqua – feed mill in Tra Noc Industrial Park, Can Tho Province.
The company’s demand for raw fish supplies is increasing quickly but raw fish supplies by the company – run farms are not sufficient, so the company has to cooperate with Pangasius farmers. These farmers, of course, have to comply with requirements and standards on “clean” Pangasius farming and instructions of the company.
To produce feed to supply to farmers the company intends to import fish meal from Chile. Pangasius processing waste will not be used to produce feed because it causes hygiene and food safety concerns.
In addition to focusing on product quality, BIANFISHCO also pay special attention to environment protection. The company’s processing factory is equiped with powerful wastewater treatment system to treat wastewater before discharging into water receivers.
Diversifying markets
To avoid difficulties that some seafood companies face with due to largely relying on single market, BIANFISHCO’s policy is to diversify export markets.
In addition to big customers in Italy, Germany and the Netherland, the company intends to expend markets to Russia, Japan, France, the UK, and the U.S.
Exporting to many different markets help BIANFISHCO avoid negative impacts when one of its markets fluctuates. With such high quality products, BIANFISHCO can conquer every market, even the most fastidious markets like EU and the U.S. |
