A strong energy and an aspiration to escape poverty helped an orphan child in bygone days become a successful businesswoman.

The former late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet visited and encouraged businesswoman Pham Thi Dieu Hien.

Looking back the long path, she expresses: “difficulties, hungry and cold in the days of evacuation have been kept profoundly in my mind. Growing up in poor condition and native country sunk in fire and sword, I always remind me to struggle. Serious losses in the past and unyielding helped me more energy make a dream become true. Anything I have today started from yesterday”.

For Ms. Pham Thi Dieu Hien, Chairman of the Board, Director General of Binh An Fishery Joint-Stock Company (Bianfishco), business is the Karma (the total of a person’s actions in one incarnation), more development more passion. She has experienced such a lot of industries as furniture, tourism, estate investment, construction and fishery.  And she has succeed mostly. She often says, “It’d rather not do, it has to be done to the last if any”. Til now, her achievements show this saying.

She said that the Tra and Basa fish (Pangasius hypophthalmus- pagasius bocourti) were the gift of God giving for the farmers of the Southwestern. The fish has helped  people’s living and enriched millions of people. Therefore, this fish "of God" must be grateful. And, in the campus of the seafood processing factory with a very "perfect" name, "Binh An Seafood", she built a temple to worship "Ông Cá, Bà Cá– spouses of Fish". In the temple, there is "Ông Cá, Bà Cá – spouses of Fish" carved by stone, and the color of the stone is as silky as that of the tra fish (Pangasius hypophthalmus).
